I had the privilege of volunteering with Ghanaian ophthalmologist Dr. James Clarke and the staff of Crystal Eye Clinic this past summer and observed just a few of the 2,954 sight-restoring surgeries performed by the clinic in 2011. This number represents a 27% increase in village patients provided care since 2010!
